The wines from each grape variety were aged separately for 18 months in medium-toast casks from American and French Allier oak. The wine is left to further age in the bottle for at least one year.
A big, complex wine which stands out due to ite broad array of aromas: first blackcurrant and plums with subtle exotic coconut and chocolate and finally refreshing mint and eucalyptus finishing with faint spice and toasted oak.

Its origins go back to 1882 when Don Felipe Ugalde established a Bodega bearing his name in Haro. It is easy to imagine Don Felipe’s dream: to produce the higest quality wines and to make his bodega one of the most prestigious of the country. Many years later in 1983, the winery was acquired by Group Principe de Viana. The company intends to do more and carry out Don Felipe’s Dream.

The different varieties originating from the various estates owned by the wines cellar are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks, which are all equipped with separate temperature control and auto-remontages systems.
Alcoholic fermentation is carried out at 28-29 degree C and lasts 10 days on average. Maceration is subsequently carried out with the head of the grape for upto 22-23 days at a temperature of 17C. Devatting then takes place separately in the different tanks in order to carry out malolactic fermentation.
Once this has been completed, an initial coupage is carried out for the purpose of ageing in casks. We keep for 29 months’ ageing in American oak casks, racked 3 times a year. 36months’ ageing in bottles.
